Cristiano Ronaldo steps in to rescue 80 dogs and help save Portuguese kennel from closure

Cristiano Ronaldo has once again shown his charitable side by helping to save a dog kennel and the 80 dogs that are housed there.
The Real Madrid superstar donated a signed jersey to be auctioned off after hearing that Cantinho da Lili kennel was experiencing financial difficulties.
According to Correrio de Mahna, the shelter in Gouveia, Portugal, houses animals that require veterinary treatment costing up to £1,700.
Amid the crisis, a volunteer at the kennel is believed to have raised the issue with Ronaldo’s extended family – and the Ballon d’Or winner was more than happy to help.
Liliana Santos, 34, who owns the kennel, told the Portuguese newspaper: ‘I want to thank Ronaldo from the bottom of my heart.
‘It’s a simple gesture, but very important.’
